About Opening Day - September 8, 2018

September 8, 2018 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Memorial Field, Rutland

Rutland Youth Soccer is holding our first ever RYS Opening Day festivities, and we encourage you and your families to come out and be a part of the fun. We have a fun filled day planned, that includes soccer, pictures, activities for the kids, food trucks, RYS merchandise and more. And best of all, other than purchasing food and RYS fan wear, the day is FREE, thanks to our Opening Day sponsor, Firesafe Chimney Services, Inc.!!!

The day will start with our Pre-K and Kindergarten soccer sessions, followed by a U8 (1st/2nd grade) mini tournament. The afternoon will host at least 3 U10 (3rd/4th grade) travel level games. And around it all, there will be plenty to keep your family entertained. RYS is also pleased to bring back picture day, where pictures will be taken of full teams and individual children.

A lot of planning has already gone into this day, and in order to make this a successful and enjoyable day for everyone, we are asking RYS families to consider volunteering a little bit of their time. Please check out our Signup Genius to register for open slots.

Food Vendors (Please Support)

We will have food vendors on site, and encourage you to check them out. A portion of all food sales will be donated back to Rutland Youth Soccer. We are extremely grateful and happy that the following food vendors will be on site:

Sweets N Java - Serving breakfast pastries and coffee

8:00 am - 11:00 am

Off the Hook Roadside Eatery - Serving a variety of lunch treats and beverages

11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Jerry's Ice Cream - Serving delicious soft serve ice cream

11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Picture Day

New England Sports Photo (NESP) is proud to be Rutland Youth Soccer's Picture Day vendor on Saturday, September 8th. Most teams will be taking pictures at Memorial Field prior to your scheduled game or session on that Saturday. Please see your player’s team listed in the schedule here.

Rutland Youth Soccer is proud to team up with Squad Locker to provide RYS fan wear so you can proudly support your child and our program wherever you go. Make sure to check out our online Team Store. During our opening day festivities we will have a tent set up where you can take a look at some of the merchandise our team store has to offer. Not only will we have computers available so that you can order your fan wear, Squad Locker has provided us a 20% off code valid on all purchases made at opening day. Check out our team store before the event so you know what you might want. Although limited in quantities, the items that we will have on display will be available for purchase, with pick up after the event is done. 5% of all online sales will be donated back to RYS!!!
